A Space for Truth, Healing, and Representation

The Black Woman GLP-1 Experience was created to center the voices, stories, and lived realities of Black women navigating GLP-1 medications, because for far too long, we have been missing from the research, the rooms, and the conversations that shape our care.

While medications like Zepbound, Wegovy, Ozempic, and Mounjaro are transforming the landscape of weight management and metabolic health, the experiences of Black women are often underrepresented in clinical trials and overlooked in broader medical discussions. This space exists to change that.

Why This Matters

Black women carry unique intersections of:

  • Hormonal health and metabolic challenges
  • Cultural relationships with food and body image
  • Chronic stress, systemic inequities, and medical bias
  • Spiritual, emotional, and community-centered healing

Yet these realities are rarely reflected in the data that informs treatment.

The result? Many of us are left navigating this journey without clear guidance, representation, or validation.

What You’ll Find Here

This is more than information, it’s a community and a movement.

Here, we:

  • Share real, honest experiences with GLP-1 medications, both the benefits and the challenges
  • Explore the mental and emotional impact of weight loss, appetite changes, and identity shifts
  • Break down research in a way that is accessible, culturally relevant, and grounded in real life
  • Create space for conversations around perimenopause, menopause, emotional eating, and body image
  • Challenge stigma and dismantle the narrative that seeking support is weakness

A Mental Health-Centered Approach

Created by Dr. Vanessa, Psychotherapist, this space intentionally integrates mental health into the GLP-1 conversation.

Because this journey is not just physical, it is:

  • Emotional
  • Psychological
  • Relational
  • Identity-shifting

We hold space for all of it.

Our Mission

To ensure that Black women are:

  • Seen in the research
  • Heard in the conversation
  • Supported in their journey
  • Empowered in their decisions

And ultimately, to create a space where we can move from silence and stigma to awareness, healing, and community.

Join the Conversation

This is your invitation to:

  • Reflect on your experience
  • Share your voice
  • Learn, unlearn, and grow
  • Be part of something bigger

Because your story matters.
Your experience matters.
You matter.

The Black Woman GLP-1 Experience is not just a platform, it’s a place where science meets story, and where healing is both personal and collective.
